l The Blackbird

The Open Field

blackbird“I know I am the primitive of the way to come.” said Paul Cezanne in 1900. And the hermit of Aix-en-provence is still in our advance.

This is the recipe for infinite creation: line, size, shape, position, direction, overlapping planes, texture, rhythm, number, interval, pattern; 12 spectrum colours; tints, tones, shades; 9 values scale black to white.

This is also the recipe for infinite creation;.

4 strings, GDAE, 32 notes.

A local carpenter bought one of my best music pictures. He said, “you’ve gone so far out there’s no swimming back.” It’s a wide open field.

T’he Blackbird : Slow air as played by Andy McGann. Next year I.ll paint three more versions: Tommy Potts, Julia Clifford, Paddy Glackin. And you’ll be able to tell which is which.
